Allied.com Military Scholarship
Deadline: 15 December 2025
Description: This is a very niche scholarship for veterans, active duty service members, and their dependents. Applicants must be majoring in logistics/supply chain management or an equivalent field.
Amount: $1,000
NBCC Foundation Military Scholarship for Counseling Masters Degrees
Deadline: not yet open for 2025 – unclear if it is gone or just delayed
Description: These scholarships provide financial support to students who are currently enrolled in a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited master’s-level counseling program; are active duty, have served in the military, or are a military spouse; and who commit to serve military personnel in the United States within 1 year of graduation for the duration of a minimum of at least 2 years post-graduation.
Amount: $8,000

Pioneer Loans Military Spouse Scholarship
Deadline: 30 December 2026
Description:
Applicants applying for the Homefront Scholars scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- 18 years of age or older (as of the ending entry date of each scholarship session)
- Legally married spouse of an Active-Duty, National Guard/Reserve, Career-Retired, or Medically Retired service member (as of the ending entry date of each scholarship session)
- Currently enrolled or accepted to be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school (as of the award selection date of each scholarship session)
- Pursuing a degree or certificate program (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral equivalent degrees or technical/vocational program certificate/diploma)
Amount: $1,000

My husband just retired (12/1/19) and we have a sophomore at the University of Alabama on the Post 9/11 GI Bill, and another daughter who is a sophomore in high school. We currently live in FL. My husband split the GI Bill between the girls. We were able to get my oldest daughter in-state tuition, so the next 2 years won’t be too bad. I have 2 questions: 1. Are there scholarships for retiree’s dependents and 2. If my youngest daughter decides to go to school in NC, does NC offer any special considerations for dependents of military personnel (retired) who signed up for the military in NC? I was told that if military members signed up in the state of AL, their dependents can attend college at not cost in the state of AL. Does NC offer anything like this?
