Great article Kate! Sometimes these scholarships for military members and families are so difficult to locate.

Another resource we “stumbled” across when our first child when to college in California was the CalVet Veteran Services College Waiver. A retired veteran with any level of disability rating from the VA, even a 0%, may find this waiver appropriate for their unmarried child or spouse in the CA public college system. We were going to be moving out of state, and our child still would have remained eligible for her CA tuition waiver.
